Virtual Production Tech Pioneers Open LA Showroom
Real-Time VFX and VP tech company OSF, founded by cinematographer Asa Bailey to develop real-time virtual production hardware and software, has opening a first of it’s kind virtual production showroom in Venice Beach, Los Angeles, California.
Being fitted out with the latest VP tech, the aim of the new space is to assist potential virtual production studio owners, Directors, Cinematographers and Producers to get their hands on and test the very best in real-time virtual production technology.
Opening up as a VP hub and lab to host industry demo’s, VP training events and to showcase OSF VP technology, from next month Producers, Directors, Studios Heads and crew will all be able to “try be for you buy” OSF virtual production products and technologies.
To that end, the new LA facility will host a showcase of OSF virtual production technologies along with VP peripherals, software and tools from leading tech vendors in the real-time VFX space. One thing to note is, that all the technologies on-show have all been extensively tested and proven, worts and all, by Bailey and his on-set team.
Opening up to serve the LA production community, the new space will be a one stop shop for all things VP, acting as a multi-function VP training centre, co-working space, tech showroom and production office. Already partnered with the industry’s leading manufacturers in camera systems, lenses, camera tracking, and LED for film, OSF’s will also showcase and test the companies own range of proprietary VP media servers and software solutions.
OSF LA will be open for business officially from the 1st of November 2020, hosted by Darnell Williams who heads up OSF’s LA business unit and is himself a veteran of the VFX industry having previously been the Director of Motion Capture at Digital Domain and the Mo-Cap Supervisor who gave us TED, Mark Wahlberg’s cuddly, yet crude, fully animated best buddy.
